Department of English

The Department of English was established in 1991. Since its establishment, the Department of English has emerged as one of the leading departments actively involved in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Considering rural background of the students, the department has made efforts to enrich students’ skills of language by offering program in Spoken English.

The Department of English makes use of ICT for teaching and learning. The Department has established fully digitalised English Language Laboratory as to develop and enrich skills of English language among students. The department conducts various activities for the students such as seminars, wall paper magazine, group discussion etc.
The Department runs both UG & PG courses. Considerable number of students have offered the subject and completed their graduation from this department. Number of aluminise are employed and holding key positions in government and private sectors. The faculty is highly qualified. One teacher has completed M.Phil., two have completed Ph.D. and two teachers have cleared NET/SET examination and registered for Ph.D. The faculty is actively involved in research activities participating & presenting papers in National and International conferences/ seminars. The faculty has also undertaken Minor Research Projects.
